What Year-in-Review Shows and the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ Report for Source-to-Pay Suites Have in Common

Here’s a little secret: I’m a big fan of those year-in-review shows that pop up everywhere in December. Usually, I watch it with friends or family and repeatedly say things like: “That was only this year??” or “Oh, they got married?” It’s a fascinating experience to observe your own brain’s time-space continuum as you reflect on what happened in your life in the past year, and find yourself wondering about what you would have done differently if you knew then what you know now.

At Esker, we had a similar experience recently: We were very excited to learn that we had been named in the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ Report for Source-to-Pay Suites. So we reminisced a bit about how we got here.

We started offering our full Source-to-Pay suite a little over a year ago. Back then, we did not know that Gartner would be adding sourcing to its evaluations and that the Gartner Magic Quadrant - Procure-to-Pay Suites would be transitioning to the Magic Quadrant for Source-to-Pay Suites. We especially did not know that we would be mentioned in this report.

A Gartner Magic Quadrants can help you get quickly educated about a market’s competing technology providers and their ability to deliver on what end users require today and, in the future, understand how a market’s technology providers are competitively positioned and the strategies they are using to compete for end-user business, compare a technology provider’s strengths and challenges with your specific needs.

In our opinion, the fact that Esker is named as a Niche Player in this very first Gartner Magic Quadrant for our execution and vision is a very welcome attestation that we are on a good path.

Esker’s Source-to-Pay suite concentrates on:

• Streamlining sourcing processes
• Enhancing policy compliance
• Improving supplier management
• Enabling procurement and finance leaders to remove functional silos

Additionally, our focus on cutting-edge technologies such as AI makes processes more efficient, improves decision making and helps teams identify and anticipate risks.

Considering this recognition, we feel that the question of “What would we have done differently?” could be answered with a resounding “Nothing!”

What we will do, however, is to continue to work hard on creating innovative and useful solutions that make your S2P processes easier and faster!
